Expert carpentry advise

Are you looking to have carpentry work done, but not sure where to start? Measuring, understanding what you can do with your space and choosing the right materials or getting an report for insuranse can feel like a minefield – so let us do the hard work for you! After a preliminary online consultation, we can arrange one of our expert advisors to come for a site visit, where they’ll be able to offer you their expert advice on how to make the most of your space.

How does it work?

At Solid Carpentry we like to gather as much information as possible about your project, so we can offer you the best advice and create a bespoke design that ticks all the right boxes.  

To get the ball rolling, we offer a free online estimate. Through our online form, you can provide us with your project details, any ideas you already have and which of our services you require. You can also select your budget range to help us better understand what you’re looking for. We’ll then be in touch with a quote, giving you a rough estimate of the cost of your project.

However, if you want someone to come over, we can arrange a face-to-face consultation to understand the space better and give you a more precise figure. This can be done on-site. Our expert team will be able to advise on the following:

  • Making the most of awkward or difficult spaces
  • Architectural fittings
  • The best layout for your property
  • Colour schemes and materials 

What will it cost?

As stated above, the original online consultation is entirely free, and after this, we ask for £90 (£75 + VAT) for a personal site visit. Please note: the site visit fee will be deducted from your final bill if you decide to proceed with our services. This fee gets you a one-hour consultation (between 7:30 and 16:30) with one of our expert advisors, a written summary of everything discussed during the meeting and a detailed quote for the works.

Dmitriy and his team did a fantastic job building us a new window seat with drawers along with understairs storage that includes some brilliant slide out wine racks. We've since had him back to build a wardrobe, replace two external doors, and do some repairs to another. He and his team are professional and courteous, they pay attention detail and leave things neat and tidy at the end of the day. Highly recommended.

This is the second time I've used Dmitriy's team at Solid Carpentry for a job (first was to install and fit an entire kitchen set with a teak worktop, second time was to create a custom spec of floor-to-ceiling cupboards and shelves in a second bedroom) and both times I have been nothing but 100% satisfied with the quality of his craftmanship, speed of work, cleanliness of the job, and overall professionalism.
